Description

The Eibsee sits directly under the Zugspitze and is arguably the most beautiful lake in the region — clear, turquoise, with small islands.

Plan: walk a section of the flat 7 km shore path, swim from one of the quiet bays on the north side, rent a rowing boat if the queue is short. Early morning is the calm window.
