What to expect: Genuinely loud — indoor rooms run punk/metal/rock acts with moshing in the Halle, and free entry means density is unpredictable night to night. The outdoor Backyard stage and beer garden are noticeably calmer than the indoor Halle.

Exit options: Multiple separate rooms plus an outdoor beer garden mean you can retreat to a quieter area without leaving the venue, or exit entirely — there's no single choke point.

Description

Backstage's entire venue turns into an open stage: 200+ bands across the indoor Werk, Halle and Club rooms, a workshop studio, and the outdoor Backyard stage/beer garden, plus open-air cinema, flea markets and talks. Free entry, optional reserved tickets for some indoor shows.
