Preparing for: Herzogstand via Cable Car (Walchensee)
Ride the Herzogstandbahn from Walchensee up to ~1600m, then walk the panoramic ridge to the Pavillon and gipfelkreuz. The classic Munich alpine day with most of the climbing skipped. Cable car runs both ways — you can turn back any time. Last cable car down is fixed; check the time before walking out the ridge. Heart-rate trouble: stay near Berggasthaus, descend by cable car.
